Walking in Royal Deeside
There is no finer walking country than Scotland. It offers you an endless variety of magnificent walks from mountains to glens, and lochs to the coast. And walking in Royal Deeside is no exception.
Walkers are truly welcome in Scotland. Our enviable tradition of free, responsible access to the hills is supported by a growing network of easy to follow low-level walks for visitors who don't want to head for the heights but are happier visiting a castle, waterfall or wildlife reserve.
The network of rural roads in Scotlands North-east makes ideal cycling territory and one of the best ways to experience some of Europes finest scenery. Off road cycling is also excellent in this area and include former railway trackbeds (the old railway line from Dinnet to Ballater and back will make a good day out) as well as forest and mountain paths.
Cycles are available at the hotel or can be rented with someone to guide you locally.
