Every winter the Anser Anser (Greylag Goose)
comes to Dinnet in it's thousands. In fact at the peak in
Winter, an average of 30,000 geese (29%% of the world's population)
grace our shores.
Nature
Birdwatchers and other wildlife enthusiasts
have plenty to attract them in Deeside, with a wide choice
of habitats from high mountains - good for spotting golden
eagles and ptarmigan, right down to coastal locations with
their gulls and waders.
The Loch Kinord Hotel backs on to the famous
Muir of Dinnet nature reserve, with its beautiful birch-woods
offering an insight in to the diversity of Scotlands natural
habitat.
Sightings of leaping salmon, fishing ospreys
and rutting red deer are virtually guaranteed, only a short
distance from the hotel.
